Sons of Eden is a certified member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia since 2022.
At Sons of Eden, we believe great wine begins with healthy land. Our commitment to sustainability is rooted in a deep respect for the Barossa landscape and a responsibility to care for it today — so it thrives for generations to come. We are proud to be certified by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, recognising our ongoing efforts to align best-practice environmental, social and economic sustainability with the distinctive terroir of our vineyards.
We approach viticulture with a regenerative mindset — aiming not just to sustain the land, but to improve its health and resilience over time.
In the winery during vintage, we use non-potable water for equipment washdown and our grape mark is composted and re-distributed on our vineyards.
Regenerative Viticulture
Regenerative viticulture is a farming approach that works with natural systems to restore soil health, support biodiversity and strengthen vineyard resilience. At Sons of Eden, we apply these principles thoughtfully across our vineyards — improving vine nutrition, reducing reliance on synthetic inputs and enhancing the quality and expression of our fruit over time.
Soil Health & Biodiversity
Our soils are the foundation of character in our wines. We prioritise practices that enhance soil structure and organic matter, boost nutrient cycling, support beneficial insect life and foster diverse habitat corridors across our vineyards.
Cover Crops
Strategic cover cropping is central to our soil-centric approach. Across vineyard mid-rows we plant mixes of cover crop species to:
- build organic matter and soil structure
- fix atmospheric nitrogen naturally
- reduce erosion and run-off
- attract beneficial insects that help maintain ecological balance
Cover crops are selected and timed according to seasonal conditions and soil needs — helping nourish the earth so our vines can thrive more sustainably each year.

Water & Resource Management
In a climate as variable as the Barossa’s, careful water stewardship is critical. We use precision soil moisture monitoring and targeted irrigation to ensure vines receive exactly what they need — no more, no less — preserving this precious resource and strengthening drought resilience.
Local Community & Packaging
We choose locally sourced bottles and packaging materials that are recyclable, reducing transport emissions while supporting Australian suppliers and our local community.
