Deep crimson in colour, with an alluring mix of black currants, violets and spiced-cedar aromas. The well-structured and focused palate displays richness and complexity. A wine with excellent ‘bones’ which will mature gracefully for many years to come.

A rich cabernet sauvignon with lots of currants and dried herbs, such as thyme and bay leaf. Impressive. Full-bodied with chewy tannins that give lots of grip. It’s chewy, but not unattractive, and entices you with the austerity and fruit.
Cabernet sauvignon from the Cranes Range vineyard; destemmed and matured for 20 months in a mix of old and new French oak. Deep crimson with impressive fruit density and definition with notes of black cherry, blackcurrant, olive tapenade, licorice, sage, clove and cedar. Fruit-pure and supple with fine, ripe tannins and an energetic line of acidity.

Vineyards:
This wine is from the vintage’s best Cabernet Sauvignon barrels and in 2022 was produced from predominantly the Cranes Range and Long Gully vineyards within Eden Valley.
The fruit was handpicked and 100% de-stemmed into an open top fermenter, where it remained for 18 days. Naturally fermented and hand plunged daily then pressed to a mix of new and seasoned French oak hogsheads for maturation. Matured in barrel for 15 months with no racking, before being clarified and bottled without filtration.
Made in only exemplary years. This classic wine is our offering to Eurus, Greek God of the East Wind, and is only made in exemplary vintages when Eden Valley Cabernet Sauvignon displays outstanding quality. Eden Valley is typically cooled in the mornings and evenings by Easterly gully winds which are ideal for slowing the ripening and refining varietal flavours.
