Sons of Eden Riesling Pack

Freya Riesling 2026 x 9

Cirrus ‘Single Vineyard’ Riesling 2022 x 2

Freya ‘Cellar Release’ Riesling 2018 x 1

Unlike many other varieties, Riesling quality is very receptive to the region in which it is grown. Eden Valley brings out the best in this variety thanks to its climate, geology and topography. Typical cool nights and warm days together with dry conditions throughout the critical ripening period ensures the fruit is harvested with near perfect natural ripeness.

Together with the pristine citrus aromas the hallmark natural acidity enables the wines to age gracefully. This pack includes a selected  ‘cellar release’ vintage of Freya that has been carefully matured for your enjoyment.

FREYA 2025

Gold Medal,  Winewise Small Vigneron Awards 2025
93 Points, James Suckling (Ryan Montgomery)

Fragrant and vibrant aromas of lime blossoms, green apples, jasmine, crushed stones and lemon zest. The palate is light-bodied with crisp acidity and a dry, finely textured mouthfeel, finishing with purity and precision. Classic Eden Valley freshness and drive.

CIRRUS 2022

97 Points, Wine Orbit (Sam Kim)

Exquisite and poised, the wine displays vibrant notes of crunchy apple, lime/lemon peel, and wet limestone, leading to a brilliantly focused palate that showcases remarkable concentration and balance. It’s refined and elegant, with excellent structure, finishing with stunning tension and energy.

95 Points, Halliday Wine Companion (Dave Brookes)

Single-vineyard Riesling from High Eden, some 550m above sea level. Pale straw in the glass with aromas of fresh lime, grapefruit and green apple with hints of citrus blossom, crushed quartz and lemon drops. There is a real intensity to the wine’s precision here, a steely stare and briny, sapid intensity as it powers across the palate, crystalline and showing great velocity.

95 Points, James Suckling

Mineral-driven with tightly wound aromas of gun smoke, lemon peel and green apple skin. The palate is light- to medium-bodied with electric acidity, a generous mouthfeel, and highly complex notes of grapefruit rind, flint, lime curd and river stones. A masterfully constructed wine that will age for decades to come.

95 Points, The Vintage Journal (Andrew Caillard MW & Ken Garrett)

Pale colour. Fragrant lemon curd, lifted bath salts, developed oil skin notes and camomile. Beautifully concentrated wine, ample lemon-lime freshness, grapefruit and touch of lanolin. Plenty of vinosity and freshness carried by a fine loose-knit chalky texture and superb length.

FREYA 2018

94 Points, James Suckling (Ryan Montgomery)

Evolving and expressive aromas of preserved lemons, gun smoke, lime cordial, beeswax, lanolin, toast and crushed stones. The palate is dry and mid-weighted, showing bright acidity, a gently rounded texture and a long, savory, citrus finish with mineral drive. Nicely developed with plenty of energy.

Freya Riesling 2026
The fruit from each Riesling block was kept separate and chilled to 6C, prior to being whole-bunch pressed with only the finest free-run juice retained. The juice was cold settled for 7 days before being racked clear to begin fermentation. Fermented cool between 12-14°C for 2 weeks and then left for 3 months on yeast lees to build palate texture. The individual parcels were then blended and naturally stabilised before being bottled in late July 2026.

Cirrus single vineyard Riesling 2022
Hand harvested, the fruit was chilled to 6C and then 100% whole bunch pressed. Only the finest free-run juice was taken, up to 450 litres / tonne. Naturally cold-settled for several weeks with only the clearest juice selected for fermentation. Fermented at a cool temperature between 12-13C until completely sugar dry. Left for 6 months on yeast lees before being prepared for bottling.

Freya Cellar Release Riesling 2018

Whole bunch pressed with only the finest pressings being retained. The juice was settled cold and racked clear to begin fermentation. Fermented cool at 12-14ºC for near 3 weeks before going to dryness. To help build palate texture the wine was held on yeast lees for a further 2 months before being bottled and matured.

This extended maturation brings an extra dimension of finesse and balance to the wines, achieving the ultimate expression of our prized Eden Valley vineyard sites.

Freya Riesling 2026 and 2018
Freya was the foremost goddess of ancient Germanic lands where the Riesling grape originated. This wine honours early German settlers who cultivated the first Riesling vine in the exemplary micro-climate of the Barossa’s Eden Valley.

Cirrus single vineyard Riesling 2022
The High Eden sub-region of Eden Valley is a small and unique region designated by its high altitude, however, it is also defined by the schist soils and rocky outcrops, vast exposure and undulating hillside aspects, enhancing its suitability for growing Riesling. The skies over High Eden are typified by ‘Cirrus’ cloud formations for most of the growing and harvest seasons, making for a picturesque backdrop to the vineyards and a perfect name for this wine. The Cirrus Riesling is made from the very best Single Vineyard wine of High Eden and made in only exemplary years.
